We will listen intently to your vision for your project, the scope of works you wish to take on, your tastes, lifestyle and how you wish to feel in your home. This will set the scene for the entire process, informing every design and procurement decision right through to installation and styling the finishing touches.

One of the unique benefits of working with Otta Design is your access to both of our Founders, Ali Johnson and Alex Keith, rather than one sole designer or a team with varying degrees of experience. This gives you double the creative input and helps to streamline the process, saving you time and providing true value for money.

Interior Design Consultancy

If you are looking for guidance on a smaller-scale project or a specific interior design conundrum, Otta Design’s one-to-one online consultations are an innovative way to access our design expertise and gain personalised advice. They can also be used to help to determine if Otta Design might be a good fit for a larger project.

Each one-hour session allows you to speak directly with either of our Founders, Alex or Ali, to ask their expert advice on everything from choosing paint colours and fabrics, to how to design a lighting scheme.

We can advise on:

  • Spatial planning – how to design a layout which flows and makes the best use of a space
  • Furniture selection and placement – including brands and suppliers to consider
  • Lighting design – fittings, circuits and layout
  • Hard finishes – flooring, tiles, panelling and how to create a coherent scheme
  • Paint colours and wallpaper – with consideration to lighting, room direction and use, and brands to consider
  • Window treatments – from blind and curtain styles to fabric suggestions
  • Joinery – including kitchens, dressing rooms, libraries, ancillary rooms and individual pieces
  • Styling – the finishing touches, from bed linen and cushions to placement of art and accessories

How it works

Contact us below to arrange a session at a time that suits you. We will email you a document asking for the relevant information we will need to guide your consultancy session, including floor plans, current photographs, inspiration images and a description of what you wish to focus on in order of priority. This should be submitted to us at least one week prior to your consultation.

Before your scheduled consultancy session, you will receive a link via email to join the Zoom video call. To make the best use of time, we recommend that you position yourself in the space you wish to discuss and have a prepared list of questions to ask us. During the consultation we will share our professional advice and support, helping you to feel inspired and energised with clear, practical recommendations for you to take forward.

You are encouraged to take notes during the consultation and are welcome to record the session for personal reference, however recordings must not be distributed. We recommend using a desktop or laptop for the consultation with the Zoom app installed in advance.

Should you require additional guidance or have any follow-up questions, you are welcome to book a further consultancy session with us.

Consultancy fee

A one-hour consultation (including project review prior to the session) is £400.
